I went to our local muffler shop and they made me tail pipes… I also bought a set of 4”x18” rolled stainless tips and they welded everything together for me. I decided not to go with stainless pipes and went with aluminized because it saved me $300. My total cost was $100 for the muffler, $100 for the tail pipes, $160 for the tips and $100 for labor. So $500 bucks for a system that duplicates the sound that comes out of the magnaflow catback and losing the dinky 4” long stock tips isn’t too bad… especially since I live in Northern Canada and the cheapest I could get a complete kit shipped to me was $900.

I wouldn’t worry too much about using aluminized pipe when you calculate the savings. The shop that did the work provides a 5 year warranty. So let’s say it rots off at 5 years to the day… to re-coupe the cost it will take getting it replaced 3 times in 15 years… I’ll take my chances lol

Hello All, I know this question has prob been asked a thousands times but I didn't find an answer here. Does anyone know the kinda specs you get with the MagnaFlow 16869 cat-back system? Just kinda wondering if its even worth buying a new exhaust since the factory one sounds pretty good. Just looking for some extra horses. Thanks all!

about 800 bucks worth of less "spec" J/K It is a nice system but I honestly don't think it will help the avg. guy on here. They do use 2.5" pipes after the muffler which will help some if you start pumping more air in to the engine. You are not going to find much with the exhaust on our truck, not without other mods and tuning. Put your truck in 2nd or 3rd, put your right foot to the floor and let it rev until 5600rpms, she breathes just fine. Our engine does not come to life until after 3000rpms, it would not pull up top if it was being choked by exhaust..Our 2012 trucks make power, it's the damn ECU keeping us from getting all of it thanks to Dodge trying to keep us safe and cut down on drivetrain warranty work. That's why everyone wants the tuners. Just pick a muffler you want and go with that for starters unless you don't mind spending 800 bucks on a cat back.
Jones MaxFlow 18" muffler swap, Green Performance drop in air filter..
