Default HIDs for 2013 Laramie

I read the HID light thread but it resulted in confusing me, not hard to do I guess. I emailed retro-solution with this:
I am looking at your 55 watt HID kit for my 2013 RAM1500 Laramie which has the projector headlamps from the factory. I see you offer a vehicle application for another $22, could you tell me what the that includes?

Will your kit install and operate without setting any messages, warnings, or diagnostic trouble codes?
They responded shorty after with a complete explanation and links of what to order:
Thank you for your inquiry. The cost difference for different vehicle applications is for the components and/or specific wiring harness required for those electrical systems. The application for your 2013 Dodge Ram is set up to work properly when installed according to the provided installation instructions so you don't get any flickering or bulb out warning light indications on the dash!

For your convenience, here are the links and selections for what you will need for your particular vehicle application:
Head Lamps

55w DIGITAL headlight kits (30%-40% more output):
http://****************.net/product-info.php?55W_DIGITAL_HID_KIT-pid664.html

Please select "9012/HIR2" for low beams, the color of your choice (see below) and for vehicle application, "Dodge Ram 2013+ Projector Lamps." No bulb capping is required for this application.

So I made the order and got an email indicating my order shipped. I saw the video of how to install, looks easy. I'll post back and tell you what I think of their quality.

Bob

I want to see pics when you get it done. I just picked up a Sport and was disappointed that a new vehicle with the upgraded lights still didn't have HID lights. I have HIDs on my Camaro and really like them.

About to order a kit for my Sport too. Look forward to hearing your thoughts.

Ditto here, I am looking at the same kit or going for a full retro with FX-R HID projectors. If the kit does well maybe that's the route I will take. Look forward to the pics!

Keep us posted. Are the factory bulbs we have 55W? I'm interested in putting some in my Sport (if it ever comes!), have had them on all other vehicles... Not sure I can go without them!

I just placed the same order. Let us know how the install goes.. I plan to get it installed by one of the installers recommended on their website.

I ordered what they told me, came in two days and I installed the new HIDs on Saturday. The kit came with the relay harness including two resistors likely used to fool the computer in to thinking the halogens are functional.

No surprises, event-less install. No flickers or dash warnings. My biggest problem is what to do with the aluminum case the product came in, to nice to toss out but I have no use for it, yet.

I ordered the 4300K temperature lights. These old eyes want the most light I can get, I live out in the country, on dirt roads, and I like to see in wet dark weather, this will do the trick. I did not readjust the headlamps after install. The drive in to work this morning proved the alignment was fine and no one flashed their brights at me. I am not even going to post the before picture because it just shows nothing, besides, there are several halogen pictures already posted. Here are the 4300K 55 watt HIDs through the Laramie's projectors. It doesn't get better than this.

As always, the first headlamp I converted took longer than the other. I ended up pulling the driver's side tire so I could look in to the access hole to see the latch I had to release to get the headlamp out.

I had right around five hours total time in the conversion but I wasn't in a rush and took my time finding the best locations to mount the hardware. The goal wasn't speed but doing it right so I would have to do it again.

Looks great, way more light than the stock halogens that's for sure. It looks like it's lacking in width though. Probably the design of the projectors. It looks like full HID retro in store for me. I hear Retro Shop does good work & specializes in Rams.
