I know the boost will just push it through irregardless of any restrictions, but I'm curious to see what the pressure differential will be before and after the TB. Mostly I just want to satisfy my curiosity. The end result will be the same, I'm just curious about the efficiency.

I suppose with a supercharger there may be a small pressure drop across the TB. That would be an interesting test to try out. Turbo boost pressure is regulated off the intake manifold so it would compensate for for any restriction. When you do decide to hit the dyno let us know. I'm sure a few of us would go to hang out and I haven't seen Davenport's new shop yet.

I think its only about $160:00 for 2 pulls, which is a great price, maybe you should get your truck done also.
I plan on doing another pull, once I get a custom tune installed this spring before heading off to Mission Raceway.

Go for the 87. It's what I have. I have intake and headers.

What outlaw said. Because you are doing headers I agree and go 87mm.
If no headers, 85mm is what I'd recommend.

We carry TBs as well.
Let me know.

Outlaw, I haven't forgotten you

According to Moe's, it's an 85mm for all bolt ons including headers. Forced induction is for the 87mm and higher.

This is somewhat correct BUT if running headers you'll want 87mm
Let me tell you why.
The extra airflow from the 87mm will help if you can get that air out just as easily which is where the headers come into the equation.

But even without headers you'll notice the difference from 85mm to 87mm

You need to separate boosted and naturally aspirated. Boosted will still function just fine with a stock throttle body. You need to start looking at larger throttle bodies when you start moving larger volumes of air. The throttle bodies that dap and moe's sell are ported with stock butterflies, so all you are doing is creating a smoother transition of the air to increase velocity, not flowing more volume. I would look at going to an 87mm with headers and full bolt ons because you want to flow as much air at higher velocity to clear the combustion chamber as quickly as possible.

Anything beyond bolt ons on a naturally aspirated motor should have a larger true bore throttle body, and any good engine builder will tell you that.
