Default Changing head units to bluetooth?

I have a quick question. I have the regular sirius cd headunit in my truck but I am able to get my hands on one with bluetooth for $60 and was wondering if it would work. Its a stock headunit and pretty much the same thing I have just with bluetooth which would be really nice to have. I know I wouldnt have the buttons on my steering wheel but was wondering if there would be any other problems.

I would look at the CRUTCHFIELD website first
fill out your vehicles information & then pick & choose what options that you would like

if the radio that you want requires a modification to the dash board
go to YouTube & type in weedahoe for a cover plate, called a bezel

then check out http://www.oemautopartsco.com/ & fill out your vehicles information

If your radio does not have a screen, it may be this one,
http://www.oemautopartsco.com/amfm6c...rbq-p-130.html

or this one,
http://www.oemautopartsco.com/amfmca...raz-p-129.html

Good luck with your choices

I guess I havent made it around to changing my info on here. I have a 2012 lonestar now. With the stock head unit. The one I can get my hands on its the same one as I have just with the stock bluetooth option. Im trying to keep it stock for now till I can do a full audio upgrade. Bluetooth would just be one thing that would be nice to do since i do a lot of driving and cant be on the phone. Im hoping that I can just take my stock stereo out and plug up the other stock stereo that has bluetooth and have it all work.

This would be the one I would be getting... http://www.oemautopartsco.com/index....products_id=36 and the one I have in my truck is just like that minus the bluetooth. I just want to make sure everything will work the way it should once I put it in my truck. such as the bluetooth and everything.

the bluetooth on the res is just a module.

Take the module off his, hook it up to yours, install the microphone, take it to the dealership and get the right sales code flashed to your ecu. Done.

If you use the other radio you'll have to change your sirius radio ID.

Chrysler made 2 different
RES 130 radios
One had a telephone receiver icon button & was Uconnect/Bluetooth ready
it still needed a BLUETOOTH Module added to the back of the radio

The other RES 130 did NOT have the telephone receiver icon button
later on in the year, they made a different module that allowed Uconnect/Bluetooth to work

without the External Module(s), none of the RES 130s will work with Uconnect/Bluetooth
the better radios for that year are the RBZ 430 & the RHB 430 with Navigation also need that External Module to work with Uconnect/Bluetooth

so unless the person selling you the other radio is also including the External Module in the sale, you still would not have Uconnect/Bluetooth

as you can see, that module is expensive $360, then the $60 that the seller wants = $420
http://www.oemautopartsco.com/nonnav...-kit-p-56.html

You could go to the Crutchfield website & buy a radio with what you need for a lot cheaper
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-TGeBsiB...Video-GPS.html

all of the radios for the 2009 - 2012 Rams are 1.5 DIN

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There are 3 sizes of stereo's, not counting the depth

Single DIN which are 2 inches tall and 7 inches wide

1.5 DIN Which are 3 inches tall and 7 inches wide

Double DIN which is 4 inches tall by 7 inches wide.

That pretty much answered my question. So the stereo is pretty much the same thing I have now so its useless. Without the Module. Ill hold off then and buy me an actual stereo when I decided to do my full audio upgrade later this year.

Mine came with the 130 with the uconnect buttons, but no module for it. I WAS going to have the module installed, but just ended up scheduling it to get the 730n installed

I moved from the 130 to the 730n as well. For me it was a good upgrade. Plug and play. Think I might do the same thing in my Jeep too. Good luck with your upgrade.
