I would go to the newer truck with the same payments if you could. Sounds like an excellent dealership. At least they did the 4wd system for you. I'm sure that if they are actually concerned about this that you could get them to throw in a 6 or 12 month warranty on a newer used truck. Explain to them your troubles again and that you cannot be dumping money into this newer truck. That way if it happens again it's all on their dime.

No one has asked so I will, how long would you have to finance the new one for to maintain the same payment. Compare how many months you have left with how many months you will need to pay and then determine if it is worth it or not. If you are going to a New as 12, 13 Ram that is one thing but if new means a used truck that is say a 09, 10 and they want you to pay 36 more months then it would not be worth it in my opinion. Look before you commit yourself to a long term contract.

^that's what the rest of us were asking.... "what are they doing to make the payments the same" i.e. extending the duration of the loan.

longer duration is the only way to keep the payments close to what you have, dealers don't give away anything.

That's a tough call, One would hope that after all that work the 2007 would treat a guy right. I have to ask though, which dealership is it that you're dealing with?
