Default Will dogs scratch my leather seats?

I ordered a 13' Sport with leather last week, curious if any of you have had issues with dogs hurting the leather seats. I have a small terrier and a springer, who always ride with me. Westie actually claimed the center console of my old truck. I am considering covers for the seats, if necessary, but wondering if it will be needed. If so, any recommendations for covers?

Did you get a CC or QC? I know with the '12 QC there is the "lay flat storage" if you lift up the back seat it folds out to make a flat floor which is perfect. I use it for my dog to keep her off my leather.

I don't have leather seats, but I do have 4 dogs. I'm guessing it depends somewhat on how well you keep the dogs' nails trimmed. I don't think they would actually puncture the leather, but they may scratch it a little.

I usually just put a couple of towels down across the bottom of the seats. This is a temporary fix that I've never had any problems with.

I've got a German Shepherd that is about 80 pounds and the world's dumbest poodle that's about 15 pounds.

Same with my 2013. Out of all the features my truck has, this might be the absolute best as it will save my seats from being ruined by my dogs.

I have a 2011 Laramie with leather and my Jack Russell's nails did scratch the black leather on my truck, including the center console. I went to autozone and bought a cheap set of universal bucket seat covers for under $30. No more scratches and cheap insurance.

I would have lifted the rear seats like some have said, but I have a pair of subs under the seats and I did not want him jumping on one of those.

If you do a search on Google for "Seat covers for dogs" you will find many different options. Some are reasonable and look like they are well made and others are ridiculous.

I have a sub under my seat as well, but there's a plastic piece that folds out that basically creates a new seat, while my real seats are tucked away, protected. This also protects the sub.

Yes -- this is why I wanted cloth when I bought my Ram. Buy seat covers, or have someone hold them. We typically only take our dog to boarding kennel, but I'm still glad I have cloth.
