Got a reply back about 4/30 being the last date for ordering:
Not true. That may be the date for Fleet companies, but it’s a different order cycle for US retail for the 2013 model year.

For those cusomters interested in the 2013 RAM 1500 Limited package I suggest having their Dealerships try May 2 or 6th.

He tossed in the last part about the Limited because that has primarily been what I have spoken to him about.

in response to ops question, i would wait, if you can, to get a 13 at reduced cost when the 14s hit the lots.

There are no guarantees that if you order a 13 it will be a 13. If they can't get it built in time, you'll get a 14, it's that simple. On top of that, you'll pay 14 prices and get 14 rebates, absolutely no compromising. I've had that happen (2) times when I ordered a Dodge Truck. I can't say that I've ever been really disappointed when it was all said and done, the newer model year usually helps a lot when selling.

How would that work? You've already negotiated a price with the dealership based on 2013 numbers. I assume you sign some kind of paperwork when you work out this negotiation and hand over your $500 check when the vehicle is ordered.

Also, don't you get assigned a VON within the first day or so then a VIN number not long after? Just seems to me like a lot of paperwork would already be done with "2013" written all over it for them to then turn around and basically void your purchase and tell you it's going to be a 2014 at a different price.

You can get your $500 back if you want (I wasn't required to place a deposit), if not you'll pay any increase that occurred from one model year to the next. I wasn't happy, called customer service both times and got the same response both times. They couldn't do anything about the price, I assume the dealer could eat it, mine didn't. I didn't blame the dealer because he has no control over the delivery schedule and he was nice enough to loan me a truck for vacation when mine didn't arrive in time. My vehicle had no ordering restrictions when I placed the order. In the end getting a 2011, versus the 2010, probably was the best deal, especially since I just traded it in and the value was much higher than a 2010 would have been.
