Default 2/4.5 drop 04 QC on a budget

What is the best quality/fairest priced rear flip kit for a 04 QC 2wd?

From what I have gathered on this site and a few others, is it works just as well and just as good of a ride to simply cut the front springs (with no heat of course). Can anyone confirm this that has experience with cut and aftermarket lowering springs up front? Can anyone provide pics of how much to cut and does it matter if it is from the top or bottom of the spring?

What else can I expect to maintain at least as good of a ride as I have stock or dang close to it? New shocks? What kind? Anything else? I am working on this all in my mind for now and buying parts as the pocket book will allow it. TIA!
