Exclamation Gear Selector Adjustment Help

I recently had my check engine light come on after my truck started shifting strangly and not wanting to go into first gear at all. It takes off in second and when coming to a stop almost slams into first but never quite goes in. You can force it into first by wiggling the gear selector but when you crawl under the truck and play with the cable it goes right in. After researching the issue I got replacement parts for the governor pressure sensor solenoid and the transducer in the transmission valve body and plan on replacing those along with the filter and obviously fluid this weekend. I was thinking I might wanna look at my gear selector cable while I am under there and possibly recalibrate it as well because I hear a lot of people tell me the selector pin can get out of whack by a tooth or two and cause some issues. Does anyone know how to readjust the cable or have any other helpful peices of information on similar issues?
