2nd Annual Chryslers in the Canyon: Anyone near Amarillo...Be There!
We are setting up for our 2nd Annual Chryslers in the Canyon. We have folks coming as far away as Albuquerque, Oklahoma City, Dallas, Midland, El Paso etc.
This is shaping up to be a very nice event with an even better turnout.
It all goes down this Saturday, October 16th, 2010.
We will meet up at the WT Events Center at 11:30 AM and caravan down to Palo Duro Canyon at High Noon.
The ONLY COST associated with this event is the group rate admission of $2 per person to get into the park. Try finding that somewhere else!
Once thru the gates we will be timed for our descent into the canyon. A member will send us off in 30-45 second intervals so our pro-photographer Della Moyer can snap pics as you and your Ram drop drop down into the scenic sights of Palo Duro Canyon.
As the drop levels out you will turn into the Pioneer Amphitheatre parking lot. This is where the show and cookout take place. We will have brisket to feed 100 ple and a few members will have grills on hand should we need some burgers.
The backdrop to the N and W is amazing!
We have tons of door prizes to give away and once the awards wrap up (3:30-4:00 PM) we will stage the Mopars for an "exit" video where I will be shooting everyone heading out with the canyon terrain as a backdrop. I'll also get a video on the cruise out to the canyon (about 15 miles from the Events Center).
This is a great show and one you do not want to miss! We have quite a few Rams and Dakotas in AAM and hopefully we can get a few out. I am trying to find some way to get my 01 down there as well...it is currently filthy thanks to the rain and working by a grain elevator, but hey...dirt adds character right?
If you plan on going please let me know! We have shirts available and they will come in somewhere under $15. We'll have dash plaques for the first 80 as well.
This is one incredible event that you do not want to miss! We've got it all: cruise, car show, cook-out, photo opps, and vidoeos.
If you are unfamiliar with the canyon it is the 2nd largest canyon in the nation and is truly a sight to see!
If anyone local is coming you probably know the locals and directions. If you are coming in from out of the area let me know via a PM or replying to this thread and I'll get you details suited to your needs.
We are building this from the groud up and it is hard to beat this kind of fun and memories for $2!
I'd love to see more Dodge Trucks in the mix...and I think you'd really like the canyon backdrops for some very unique photos!
Again let me know if you plan to come...we'd love to have you. If you will be staying overnight we might even throw something togehter Fri or Sat night.
Hope to see some new folks out this weekend!
