Default T1000 logging engine oil temperature

I emailed DS on this and got this reply. "That’s simply what Chrysler wanted the PCM to see, I can’t comment on why it does not match the data in the EVIC."

Not very useful.

The parameter for oil temp says "Oil Temp Calc". Why does this need to be calculated and why isn't there a direct measurement? The value on the gage hardly changes at all and totally does not agree with the Vehicle information given on the dash. Anyone found a workaround for this? ECT, and transmission temp are spot on.

Default Trinity Oil Temp is off

I was going to post this question and then noticed I had the same issue in 2013.

My Trinity gauge set up gives me an oil temp reading that does not even closely match the oil temp coming from EVIC. I'm talking about 30 degrees difference. Has anyone seen this and did you get any kind of an answer from DS? My problem with this: If I can't trust the Trinity oil temperature gauge, what can I trust? Oil temperature is a pretty basic data point.
