Default 2012 Ram 1500 Won't Start

Monday my 2012 Ram 1500 wouldn't start, it didn't even try to start. The battery was good and the truck only have 7900 miles on it. I called a tow company to get it to the dealer. It was in my garage, so I put it in Neutral and pushed it out, while it was moving I decided to crank it, it fired up. The dash lit up like a Xmas tree, to later leave the SERV 4WD on. Turns out the Transfer Case Control motor was bad, according to Dodge, the truck didn't know what gear it was in so it wouldn't start, possibly by rolling it it triggered the sensor to find Neutral, hmmm okay sounds plausible. Anyway, they replaced the part and its been working since. Just wanted to share. I've seen some threads on starting issues without resolution and though maybe they have the same problem but the transfer case motor isn't throwing a code.

Oh, and the tech said I noticed your steering wheel was not quite centered so I fixed that for you. Awesome!!! Medved in Castle Rock, CO they are small, but care about their customers. I took it to Go Dodge on Arapahoe right after I got it complaining about the steering wheel and they told me they couldn't duplicate it, idiots.

I have read a thread or two here where the shift lever was not fully in Neurtal. So the fix was to "reseat" the shit lever. My truck did this once and it worked.

OP I know that your problem was different, but this could also help some who read this.

Try putting a new battery in your key fab? That fixed my problem
