Congrats and welcome to the club!

I'm glad that you were able to work out a deal that you felt good about. Sometimes all that it takes is a lot of patience.

Looking forward to the pics

MSRP on truck was 30,535. employee discount is pretty useless on a 2012 model.. 2013 model different story. 2012's are hard to find right now.. trust me, I've looked my arse off from wi to indiana all of April.. They're few and far between and are either out of my price range at the moment or they are pretty much the 30,535 MSRP's like mine.

Final numbers.

they came down to $22,000.. so about 8,500 off MSRP of 30,545 which I think is fair for both. Where they "blew" me away was with my trade-in. They gave me 6,000 for my very very basic 2007 dodge caliber and kelly blue book was 5,400.. I think their trade-in offer was at least a grand more than I expected so in reality I got the truck for closer to 21,000.

I would have had a hard time selling it for 6k private and then I'd have had to deal with all the Craig's list BS and tire kickers.. Plus my work schedule barely leaves me enough time to get 6 hrs sleep. I work from 6am-8pm 5 days a week and 6 hrs on saturday so I get one day to myself.. last thing I want to do on that day is show my car lol.

It does have the Hemi 5.7 or I would never even be looking at or bought the Truck. Will I get sick of not having a backseat? for sure but, for now it's only me and my Chocolate Lab, Trigger so we'll be fine for a coupe yrs until I save some money up and trade it in on something more practical and take better use of my Fathers employees pricing.

They topped the tank off and also threw in free oil changes every 5,000 miles or 3 years with full synthetic oil.

On a scale of 1-10 just in my 20 mile drive in to work tonight I lovee the Truck off the scale.

On a scale of 1-10 on how I feel about the deal I got, I would rate it close to a 9 all things considered in the position where I'm at now.

Thanks again to all that helped me out through this it was truly a big big help.. when I get home I'll post some pictures of the truck if its still light out or else I'll do it first thing in the AM after I wash it lol... damn rained tonight
Excellent! You did well, good luck with the ntruck and enjoy.

Thanks guys! The weather is crappy (rainy) again today but, I guess its better than the 18" of snow my relatives in Ashland, WI got dumped with yesterday.

I can't believe how much power these lil regular cab trucks have especially coming over from a dog caliber. I barely get in to the pedal and I'm up to speed.. Can't wait until it clears and roads dry up so I can get in to the pedal a little more once lol..

now the fun really begins. I want seat covers, a bed mat, maybe spray in liner? tonneau cover or maybe a cap and slight window tint but, what I really can't wait to get is a little louder exhaust lol. If any of you have any recommendations of setups I would love to hear them! I don't want anything too obnoxious (especially at highway speeds) but I also want that Hemi to sound sweet.

I will definitely get pictures up as soon as I can but, I want to wait until the rain and gloom passes and get some quality ones in the Park or something after I wash it up.

Thanks again for everything and have a great TGIF and weekend.

There are a lot of exhaust options out there but it's hard to go wrong with Magnaflow. Great quality, performance minded design, and sounds great. There are a ton of videos on Youtube but here's one in particular that compares well to stock. This guy is running an 18" Magnaflow. If you think you want it louder, go with a 14". If you think you want it quieter, go with a 22".

Thanks much for the info, Star. Would I just be replacing the muffler or is there other pipes or DIY kits that would be better than just swapping mufflers?

Here is a pic from this morning all dirty and gloomy out of the three 2012's in the family.. mine is the little guy on left, brothers 2012 outdoorsman middle and my fathers sport is it? on the end.

Almost crapped myself when I seen the white looking scratch on the rear end.. Ran outside and there was nothing there lol

Congrats on your truck, that's a great pic, too, of some nice looking RAM's!

Great looking Ram family you have there. Truck is looking good!! To answer your question about the exhaust, you can buy full catback systems but they are expensive and the general consensus is that the stock piping is good enough that it doesn't need replacing. So that more or less leaves two options. Mufflex makes kits that consist of Magnaflow mufflers in whatever length you want with the pipe extension already attached. These kits can actually be installed with only clamps (no welding) in your driveway if you so desire. The other option is to simply buy a muffler and have a reputable exhaust shop cut out your stocker and weld the new one in. They will have to add a little piece of pipe because the stock muffler is huge but it's rather simple and easy. Nothing against the Mufflex but I would probably go for the welded in muffler. If it's welded properly there is less chance of an exhaust leak and it's also going to be a fair bit cheaper. Just try to find an exhaust shop that can properly weld stainless steel rather than regular ol' aluminized pipe if possible. The stock piping and Magnaflow muffler are both SS and it will all last longer if you stick with SS.

I've got a '10 Crew Cab. I swapped out just the muffler for a Flow Master 50 series HD. I kept all of the factory piping, and I also kept the resonator on. I couldn't be happier with the results. Below is a link to the thread I started when I got it all done... there are before and after videos, so you can get some comparison.

Here is a link for the video comparison

I've been trying to remember, but I think it was about $250 installed to get it done.

Good luck, and let us know what you decide as far as exhaust goes

I musta missed that thread when you did it Exco. Obviously I'm a MF fan but I gotta say that FM sounds good! Some of them are a bit too loud for me but your's sounds just about right. Guess that's the difference in the 50 series vs. the 40 and 44 series.
