Default CST 2WD Suspension kit opinion

Hi, I am considering in purchasing a CST 2WD 4" kit for my 2010 Dodge Ram 1500 crew cab and would like some input from other forum members that have installed the CST 2WD 4" SUSPENSION LIFT kit on there 2010 and newer Dodge Ram 1500's , and would like to know what is your honest opinion on this kit . In other words please comment on the ride quality before and after , Craftsmen shift of this product , instalation , any problems with any excessive wear on tires , any suspension noise , and any thing else that comes to mind . Thank you

I have the CST 4 inch lift (spindle kit) on my truck. I like it a lot. It did not change ride quality at all. Rides the same. However, prior to the kit, I had a problem with a vibration felt through the gas petal (which seemed like a common problem that Dodge couldn't fix), and after the kit was installed the vibration actually went away. There are not a lot of options for 2wd lift kits so I went with the CST spindles. Only complaint is price really, but didn't have much choice. The place that installed it for me price matched what I found online for parts and of course added installation charges. One thing I wished I would have done was gotten the bigger coil spacer for the rear. It was recommended to get a 1.5" spacer to make it more level, but I just stayed with the 1" that came with the package. I think you can change it when you order. ***Double check it the spacers. It could have been 2" and should have ordered the 2.5" spacers. Couldn't remember exactly.****

Overall, I'm happy with it. It rides the same as stock. It doesn't seem to have any abnormal tire wear. No noise. And product quality seems to be good.

Hope that helps.

No problem. I checked my records, I have the 1 inch rear spacer. I should have gotten the 1.5 inch rear spacer to get a more level look. It's not too noticeable with the 1 inch and I'm thinking if I'm driving along with a passenger, the truck probably sits level then.

Anyways I would have gone with the 1.5" if I knew better. I think the cheapest I could find was about $999 for the complete package plus a little more maybe for the upgraded spacer. Plus install price.

Good luck and show some pics when you get it done.

May I ask are u still running the factory OEM wheels and tires , I have the 20x9 Laramie clad wheels and factory 275/70x20 tires, I am planing on buying soon new tires after I install the CST 4" lift but would like to go a little more of a aggressive looking and bigger tire size and keep the factory wheels and maybe go to a 285/65x20 but in reality a larger tire close to 35's but I have 3.55 axle gears and will be towing my trailer and some one told me I would have to change the gears if I was going to be towing a lot is this true.

Yea, I still have stock wheels and tires. 275/60/20. I'm actually looking to get new wheels and tires soon. I'm looking at 275/65/20 which would be 34 inch tires I believe. The wheels will probably be 20x9 with +18 offset. I think my selection will work after my research.

As far as gears and towing, that's above me at this point. I don't really tow and have no idea what my gears are.

I believe my kit came with 1.5" spacers for the rear and 4" spindles for the front. When I ordered the stuff the guy said if I wanted the truck to sit more level, I should "upgrade" to the 2" spacers for the rear. Well, I ignored his advice and kept with the 1.5. With the stock wheels/tires the front seemed slightly higher (with the 1.5). After putting new wheels/tires it's not as noticeable. So, I would at least go with 2" rear spacers with the 4" spindle.

Sorry for late response and hope that answers your question.
