Default Tires?

I have a 2010 1500 with a 2.5 level kit and stock 17" rims. I am going to get new rims and tires either a 17 or 18 rim and am wondering if 35s will fit without rubbing issues with just the level kit?

So if I go with a 18 x 10 with -24 offset and 35" mickeys I'll have no rubbing? Or would I be better with a 17x9 -12 offset? Just have heard a couple people say they had issues with rubbing when turning and want to make sure I'm good. Thanks for the help guys.

depends on the stance you want...you should be fine with both.

the 18x10 -24mm will stick out a good bit further than a 17x9 with -12mm

but both will look good in my opinion.

With the 18x10 -24 offset you will rub on the back of you inner fender (where they buldge out) near full lock. The 17x9-12 offset will probably do the same but not as bad. It can easily be fixed with a little bit of trimming though. Mine 20x9 -12 offset with 35" Toyo MT's do the same thing but it is very minimal. Here's a link to my thread that talks about the rubbing a bit with a few pictures of where the problem is:

http://www.ramforumz.com/showthread.php?t=141365

If you want absolutely no rub, stick to a 9" wide wheel with a 0 offset.

Thanks for the link! Nice truck! After reading and seeing it I think I will go with the 20s and -12 offset 35" mickeys. I noticed you had the rear coil spacers on yours, will not having them on mine create any issues? And you just had to trim the plastic fender correct?

Thanks!

I have rear coil spacers just to give me a little bit of rake. With my 2.5" leveling kit the truck was too level IMO and looked a little nose high at times. The 0.75" rear coil spacer gave it the stance I wanted. You don't need them to clear the tires at all.

So far all I have done is taken off the plastic trim piece at the back of the fenders. This helped the rubbing issue a little bit. They still do rub slightly but like I said it's only near fully lock and not enough to force me to fix it ASAP. I'll probably get around to it this weekend.

Correct, with the 20x9 0 offset you shouldn't rub at all. Mine only rub because they are a -12 offset which pushes the wheel out 0.5" further therefore when I turn it is closer to the inner fender.

^^^ Everything that he wrote is correct.

I have 35” Toyo MT’s on 17” XD Cranks with 0 offset and a 2.5” Rough Country levelling kit with a 1.75” rear spacer. I have absolutely no rubbing… just to confirm what you’re reading here.

If you’re curious here is a link to my thread with at little write up:
