Great ideas and tips. I've got a few cans in my garage and can't wait to start experimenting when I get home next week. Wheels, badges, grill, maybe even a stripe.

i doubted myself at first too my first attempt was a train wreck, i ended up slowing down and basically made several coats but didnt let it dry inbetween them
dont lay heavy at the edge until close to done, and the right type of tape is very important also, and very much worth the price

P.S. Practice makes perfect dont be afaid to paint some a peel it off later, I usually dont tape it all off just go with two or three tape widths wide as the boarders and then use microfiber to remove overspray when done
but i am cheap like that

Any tips on doing the front and rear emblems? Better to mask off around them or do they just pop out for dipping them clip back in?.

i dont know for sure i havent done my emblems and probably wont. but i hear they just take a section and square it off around it, then peel the overspray

the person you want to get in touch with about that would be ASILAYDYING and his truck he did all emblems and eventually whole truck he would know alot more about the whole emblem process

Plasti Dip is cool stuff. I just did my rims also have the side steps front and rear emblems and grille dipped.

When I did mine I taped around them then covered about a two foot area around the emblems with newspaper from over spray. This was 10 months ago and they still look new.

For my rears I did two boarders of tape and then just newpaper around the area.. For the front I did the emblem with the grill and bug guard so it just all went together nicely.

Darn! lol That's when a garage comes in handy :P

It's already been mentioned but I wanted to say definitely make sure it's warm (60+) outside or at least the can is warm by leaving it in the sun or put it on an air vent inside.

I might be getting off work early tomorrow and I have a few extra cans of dip so I think I might try spraying my own hash marks for my hood/fender instead of buying them. I'll post pics if I happen to get it done :P

Got the front emblem off no problem to spray, but back didn't want to work so well, so did it while on the truck, took a few trial and error times due to putting on too thick and dripping, but pretty happy with the finished product.
