Default transmission question?

I have a 2008 1500 4x4. I have noticed that I really have to push on the pedal to get the trans to downshift. It feels like I have to push it 2x's as far as I should to get it to kick down. Any ideas or suggestions?
Also when I do really really get on it the transmission feels like it surges. Any ideas?

The first part is pretty normal for these trucks. Sucks, but it's the truth. Everyone complains about it.

Not sure what the second part could be, or how serious it is. But just sounds related to the previous part...just the nature of these trucks. Mine does it too

I was hoping it was'nt "normal" and could be fixed. Can you manually adjust these transmissions like to old stuff or is it all computer controlled. As far as how bad the surging is, its just enuff to bug the hell out of me.

don't know anything about adjusting...pretty sure it's all computer controlled.

But unfortunately everything you are describing seems pretty normal :/ esp having to floor it to get it to down shift.

I run 35" M/T tires...i feel it now worse than ever

in my 11 sport, i can shift the trans by tapping my shifter to the right. unless ram changed this feature, you should also have this feature.

negative...not in his 2008

pretty sure...the 3rd gens don't have that option. I could be terribly mistaken though...I've never seen one

A tuner will help with shift points, etc. With superchips you can get the advanced trans control and make your own shift schedules too.

Have you double checked fluid level(while at operating temperature, and in neutral?).

Yes I have checked the level, warm, nuetral, and in park. Looks like a tuner is the option.
