Default leveling kit questions

I have a 2009 ram 1500 2wd slt. I want to put a front leveling kit on it. After watching some youtube videos, it looks like all i need is a strut spacer? So i contacted my local 4wheel parts to set up a appointment to have this installed. They told me that i would need a longer shock to do this? Any help is much appreciated, i am new to trucks, so be gental.
