Default 85MM Throttle Body Install Notes

I finally received my 85mm Throttle Body this afternoon. SO then I read up a little bit and wanted to see if it really that easy to change. I disconnected the battery during the install so the PCM can re-learn it. All there is to it is to:
1) slide the red tabs back on the harness attached to the intake tube and on the throttle body itself.
2) Push down gently on the black tab in front of them and slide it off.
3) Next take your flat head and loosen the clamp on the intake tube.
4) Give it a little pull and set it on top of the engine cover.
5) Now pull up on the front of the engine cover a little and lift it up enough to get the throttle body out.
6) Loosen the four bolts on the throttle body with your 1/4" drive 8mm socket with an extension.
7) Pull the throttle body out. (don't drop the screws).
8) Make sure the rubber O ring is in it's groove.
9) Place the new on on there and make sure the pin on the intake giudes it into the correct place.
10) Put it all back together (the intake is plastic so just snug the screws down or you'll strip it) and drive it for a little while.

Total time investment: no joke 10 minutes.
Tools needed: a 10mm wrench for the battery cable, a flat head screw driver for the intake clamp, and a 1/4 drive 8mm socket with extension for the throttle body itself.

Less than a 5 min install (from getting your socket and putting it away)

Yep, probably took longer to find the tools in my tool box than to actually use them. I'm debating on taking the old one (with 3400 miles on it) to a machine shop and seeing if they can make it an 87mm just for kicks since it's just sitting on the shelf in the garage now anyway.

Yea, many shops are not capable of doing a proper job. We know cause we asked SOOO many....LOL
You will need a CNC machine and then if they have a machine, they will want a CNC design to enter it into the machine.

If you only have 3400 miles on it, we could buy it off you

Send me a PM if interested in going that route

But yes, finding the right socket and extensions take longer than installing the actual TB

Now think about stripping your block bare and and putting it back together and have it fire up first try without instructions pretty nerve racking to say the least.... But nice write up on that throttle body im sure there are a lot of guys out there that will use this.

Not to many guys on here can say they have their finger prints on their pistons!
