Default Just bought a "new" Ram...supension noise??

Hi im new to the forum and just bought a 2003 dodge ram 1500 with
200,000kms, reg cab short box 4x4. It had a box cap on it when I test drove it and decided to buy it and when I got home and took the cap off and went for a drive a loud whistling noise, souds like from one of my wheels is happening. It did not make this noise with the cap on.... When I slow down the noise slows down and when I speed up it speeds up, can anyone help me diagnose what this might be? Thanks!

Could me a bad wheel bearing. It is a long shot, but the added weight of the cap may have been just enough to soothe the bad bearing into slightly less whine/whistle.
Good luck.
