Default Good design point by RAM on UConnect remote start

So I actually use the UConnect remote start feature, which lets you start your truck with your iPhone. I do it when I leave my desk at work, since it takes me a few minutes to get through the elevators, to parking garage, etc. I like to have my truck warmed up a bit before taking off.

Anway, I sent the start truck command like normal. Go to my truck and it was not running. I figure, the signal didn't get through. When I got into my truck there was a message on the EVIC saying remote start message was rejected, due to Low Fuel (I had about 35 miles left to empty and fuel light was on).

I guess the engineers figured out that you don't want to inadvertently run your truck our of gas idling from the remote start! Good job RAM!

On another note, regarding the Uconnect 8.4AN, when I have my iPhone connected via cable, and do a voice search by Artist, after it pulls up the Artist with songs, after playing the song I want when I go back to hit BROWSE hoping to see just the songs by that Artist, it just goes back to the full list of songs by every Artist....that's NOT too smart...

Oh well...

Sorry Canada got hosed on the apps. I know it stinks to pay a bit more for something you should already have but if you really want these features I highly recommend the Viper Smart Start system. I had it in a previous vehicle and you can start your car from an app (I used the iPhone version) and it is available in Canada. Like the Uconnect it will also shut off if your low fuel light comes on. In many ways it is better than Uconnect because it doesn't have a several minute lag between hitting send and the car starting like Uconnect does. I think they have since added various features to it that my original model didn't have, like GPS and Bluetooth functionality and even some sort of home automation thing.

It is also expandable, so if you wanted you could add a module to control your power windows.
