Default Power Steering issue

Hey everyone,
I have a 91 Dodge 250, 4 wheel drive, radial transmission, 5.9 cummins.

The power steering went out but it's not howling or making any noise. If you put in fluid it will puke it out and push it out of the filler. Not sure if the pump is no good or if the steering box went out. Any ideas?????

I would say the pump is the problem. I would lift the front end up and turn the wheel with the vehicle off to see if the steering gear is locked up.

I had the same issue on 93 w350 back in feb. swapped the pump and fixed it the issue..... until about 2 weeks ago and started doing the same thing, swapped it again, looks like it is working, both pumps were reman'd from oriely's. still waiting to see if anyone else has any ideas on any other issues that may causing this.. (see my previous posts)...

i had that same issue last year with my 84 d150 and after replacing it with a new one i found that somehow trash of some kind had gotten into it and was clogging the pressure outlet and when i replaced it that took care of the trash in the pump but there was still some left in the hoses and it clogged up again. i had to flush the whole system and that finally solved the problem and i was able to put the original pump back on, this may not be your problem but its worth looking into i think. good luck with it
