Default Lift Kit On Order!

So I decided to go for it and see what I can get myself into with lifting my
2WD 98' Dodge Ram 3.9L V6.

Again I know its 2WD and V6 and there are skeptics out there about doing a lift on a 2WD V6 and also the 4x4 junkies who laugh . Then again there were many of you who gave me encouragement and solidifide my decision to go ahead and give'er a try.

Once again, I am going with the 3.5" spindle lift from Fabtech which includes 4new shocks, 1 1/2" Block/Ubolt kit, 2 new spindles and the single shock steering stabilizer . I am also buying new stock springs because i figure while im doing the lift there is no point putting the 12 year old rusty springs back in.

The reason for Fabtech is that after much searching and research they were the only ones I could find that gave a good combo of parts for what i was looking for and what i needed. Also the biggest decision maker was that they were simply one of the only companies I could find that made 2WD suspenison lifts that were available through Canadian distributors (please correct me if im wrong)

So the goods are listed below.... I ended up ordering through National Offroad in Burlington, Ontario. Ive been dealing solely with a guy named Matt and he has been excellent . Linky is: http://www.national4wd.com/index.php

Any comments, concerns, questions or suggestions are greatly appreciated...

You should be happy with it, they make great stuff. It's funny, I get made fun of by my 4x4 friends too, but I'm dropping a 4x4. I do what I want and to hell with all the others is what I say. It's your truck, if you wanna lift it, we can appreciate the work regardless.

This will be sweet...I cant wait to see pictures. My truck is a 2wd too and I want to lift it in the future. First im doing the 1.5 level kit then im going to do a 3in body lift. I dont want to go crazy but want a nice stance and aggressive look.

Hey Dodge4x4 do you have any pictures of that new body style lifted? Id really like to see some pictures of 2wd newer style lifted trucks. Im trying to get an idea of what mine could look like with a decent lift and some rims and tires. If not could you snatch a photo for me?

Hey thanks everyone... CdnoilRam your right man. I figured its my truck, im fortunate to have one and its what I have to work with at the moment so im going to do what I want to do to it... I always wanted a lifted truck since I was little!

I have the 5 speed standard tranny so I can always gear down manually

With our mild winters Southern Ontario I would only use 4x4 maybe 6 times anyways... and I dont care to fill my truck with mud offroad... thats what my ATC's and dirtbikes are for haha

Thanks foxcrazy90 I didnt think of the 4cyl toyotas with lifts... 37" would be crazy. I think I should be fine with 33" and 3.5"'s for now. I will get it done and drive it and see if gearing needs to be addressed.

But ya I wouldnt mind seeing some pictures of lifted 2WD either

Again thanks !
