Default Mopar Chrome Air/Bug Deflector

Has anyone purchased and installed the Mopar chrome air/bug deflector?

I ordered mine from abernethymotors through Amazon, and it was delivered in one day even though I selected standard shipping!!!

The installation should take less than 10 minutes, but mine took a few minutes longer because I could not tighten the screws down without the underhood plastic inserts spinning.

I solved that by using some duct tape to secure the inserts to the hood to prevent them from spinning around while I was tightening the screws.

My only concern is whether the deflector will vibrate against the top or edge of the hood and cause paint damage. I thought maybe the deflector would include some adhesive standoffs to apply to the hood to keep the deflector far-enough away from the hood to prevent any interference.

Does anyone have any long-term experience with this deflector?

I have had this on my truck for over a year. No damage to the top of the hood. Some rubbing on one side at the edge. Put some protective tape down and you are set.

I went with the Stampede bug deflector. Put it on as soon as I took delivery of the truck on 02-01-13. No issues even though its been only 2 months.

It should have came with some rubber dots on it to keep it from damaging the paint. I know the vent shade brand did. I went with the new style that just double side tapes on and aits flush.
