Default trany possible slipping

So i got my trany rebuilt round 25,000 miles ago. And I've noticed it doing it a few times and seems to happen a few more times now. But when i start it up and take off right away it'll sometimes not go until around 2200 but last night it didn't take off tell around 3000 rpms. So was possible thinking its my torque converter. Is this sounding right to you all???

This is only when you first start it up cold? And then it's fine after that? Or does it also rev higher than usual once it's warmed up?

If it's only after a cold start, then I'd suspect a bad spin-on (cooler return) filter. These filters have an internal diaphragm to prevent converter drainback (oil in the converter draining into the trans sump while the engine is off). A bad filter could have a weak diaphragm. If the converter oil drains out, it feels like the trans slips (if you drop it right into gear after a cold start) because the air in the converter won't transmit the torque. As the converter refills, the torque slowly comes up, so it feels like the trans "oozes" into gear.

If this describes you, next time let it idle in Park for maybe 20 seconds after you start it, then put it in gear. It should act normally. If so, then replace the spin-on filter inside the trans with a Mopar filter (05179267AC). That should fix it.

By the way, this will NOT hurt your transmission (the problem is NOT that the trans is slipping; it's too little torque from the converter), so you can get it fixed when it's convenient for you.
