Default stupid door and key chime

Have an 05 ram p/u 1500 and I can't stand the door/ key chime that reminds you that you left the key in the ignition. I like to have the radio on when cleaning the truck and all you hear is bing bing bing! I've been up under the dash and see no separate chime, seems like it is coming from the dash cluster itself. Worker of a freind at dodge say it is in the cluster and is a pain in the ass to program out and to live with it! Anyone else suffer from door chime-itist like me, anyone eliminate it by chance somehow? Or am I the only one it bothers? BING BING BING BING....you hear it!

bothers me too. But it's done it in every vehicle Ive had and never thought about trying to disable it. Just gotta crank the music up to the point you can't hear it honestly

Theres a way to do without programing it out. My dad did on his 02 ram 1500 and completely shut it off except when CEL came on. How he did it I don't know. I would ask him how he did it but he died about year ago. I hate mine to and I never thought to asking him about it. Ill ask to see if any of my buddies have done it and let you.

ok one of my buddies did it in his ford expedition. From what I can tell there is no way to disable it except to clip the wire. He clipped the wire at the latch on the inside of his driver side door and BOOM no more dinging. If you do that then your interior lights wont come on except when a door other than drivers is opened. Im going to end up doing it and dealing with my interior lights not coming on when I open the door. I know my truck well enough now that I don't need to have the interior lights on when I get in at night. If I need the lights Ill just use the light control switch. also there will be no Door AJAR warning for the drivers door.
