Well im 16 and Friday after school on the way home I flipped my 97 Dakota on the roof into the ditch and walked away without a scratch and i was doing 50+ in the pouring rain the road go's from there to dirt and then there's a few miles to my house and when i hit the dirt the ass end kicked out and i tried countering it a couple different times then finally it wouldn't go where i wanted it to hit the ditch flopped it onto its roof cut myself free and jumped out with my buddy behind me helping the whole time. Now hopefully within a few weeks i'll have a ram that's what i have wanted for the longest time and looking forward to your guys's help. Names patrick

Welcome to the Z, Patrick. That's a helluva way to get rid of a truck. Good to hear you're ok. Don't be afraid to ask questions or boast about your beast, when you get it. And when you do... pictures pictures pictures. Because if there isn't a picture, it never happened.

Hey Patrick! I flipped my 2002 Dakota 2 1/2 times doing 70+mph. Walked away without a scratch. Amazing how slow the event unfolds. I was hard on my brakes avoiding an object in the road over corrected twice before sliding completely sideways inching towards the dirt embankment. Had the thought of throwing her in second and trying to jump the embankment instead of plowing the nose into it.... never got the chance only managed to throw in the clutch before I kissed the embankment and then dark, light, dark, light, then dark as the dust settled. I look back now and realize One I was heavy braking the whole time and Two I oversteered multiple times. And Three... why the hell was I doing 75mph on a dirt road no wider than a lane and a half. Because I was 17 and naive. Look back on this accident and remember why it happened and what you could do to prevent it. I know after the vehicle stopped rolling I had about an inch from my head to the Window. I know if I had rolled again I wouldnt be able to tell you my experience today. And remember one thing Patrick. Small corrections at speed is what is needed. Even in these bigger rams... make a slight steering correction then WAIT for the truck to respond before making another correction to go straight. Our trucks are light on the ass end and You/We might not walk away without a scratch next time. Im sure you know what happened that day but remember it. Ok be safe Patrick and hope to see your new Ram soon too and Please be careful. As good as our trucks look they dont look good upside down!!! LOL
