It does make sense for them to do that because it will more profitable, and a faster fix. I would mention that the fix is being paid out of your own pocket and see if they can do better on the pricing. Sometimes the shops go with the higher estimate thinking that the insurance company will be picking up the tab.
Actually the price they gave me is for refinishing the bumper. They said they would fix the dent then reprint everything. Now they also said they could do pdr, but if I went that route I would still be left with to small chips in the paint.
My main reason for it not being fixed yet is because I was debating a addictive desert disigns front bumber, but I've decided that's too much I want to spend on a bumber... I'd rather put it into other mods
