The 6spd and 3.55's are a sad combo. I swapped 3.92's in my 09 and kinda with I would have got them on my 13 4x4. Haven't driven a 8spd but honestly I was happy with the tranny in my 09 after the MDS shut down and 3.92's it towed good and was a lot of fun. I do want to try out the 8 but to me the rear on the highway towing is kinda sad for a almost 400 HP truck.

Is there any truth to torque management on these trucks, limiting some of the torque that the motor can generate? If so, I wonder if the larger tires, are allowing more use of the available, yet electronically limited, torque that we experience.

I was driving down back country roads a few weeks ago. I turned onto a nice quiet road with a few homes and decided to just giver. I had the windows down to hear the old rubber squeel and no word of a lie, when I smashed the pedal down I could have sworn somebody was standing on their front lawn screaming at me. I laughed at myself when I realized that it was my tires. Drove by the same spot the following day and saw the huge patch I layed down on the road. MAN I LOVE THIS TRUCK!!!!
