Those pinion nuts have been made for a long time...
they`re actually made in china, they`re stuck in customs shipping containers.

I've had my recall notice for almost two months. I've called Dodge twice for updates and have spoken to evasive, unhelpful reps each time. The NHTSA is equally helpful, not that i expected anything useful from the feds.

The recall notice mentions a failure could lead to the rear end seizing and the vehicle crashing, yet Dodge continues to let thousands of customers, without driving alternatives, play Russian Roulette. Amazing. I'm pretty disgusted with the company right now.

It's terrible that our North American companies treat us, their bread and butter, in this manner. If these nuts come from China they will be junk anyway. I used to work in a small foundry and we lost some contracts to China. We then began to do quality control on these parts because they cannot tell if the part conforms to specs. Most would be sent back. They produce lots at a cheap price but they have no quality. The dealers don't seem to want to be bothered with this rearend problem. Shame on them. We all have to try to buy as much products that are made in Canada or the U.S.A. if we can find any.

I'm beginning to think, that, Dodge is just waiting for people to go to there own mechanics to get it fixed when it falls off. This way Dodge doesn’t have to fix the “whole” issue. In my opinion, they think like this, If it is not broke why fix it! It will same them a lot of money. I'm still waiting for my second notice. I mean really! This long waiting on a part!

Are there not laws in place where the auto manufacturers must come up with a fixed for a recall within a certain time fame?

Ireceived my first notice on this rear end issue in Nov.

My dealer suspects they have no part that will fix problem.
