Question Electrical burning smell

Has anyone experienced an electrical burning smell coming from the heater vents? I find it hard to believe that it's related, but this happened just after I installed flip up towing mirrors on my truck. When installing them I also plugged in the puddle lights and signals, Although they didn't work, just the movement and heat work. I left the plug for the lights out since they didn't work anyhow the smell is Gone. Any thoughts? Thanks.
Tom

Hey, I am having the same problem!
The last few weeks I have noticed a wire/ plastic burn smell when I get in the car, as soon as I get the air circulating it goes away... It is strange and a little scary. I feel that there is something burning in the truck.!
I am dreading taking it to the dealer with this vague complain because they are such a morons and would want to keep my truck and possible having no clue what to do.!!
Does any one have any ideas??
Thanks
