I currently have 265/70/17's on my '02. I'm looking to go a little taller and a little wider. Not looking for anything drastic, just something to make its stance look a little meaner. I'm not overly familiar with tire upgrades..

It largely comes down to what type of tire you want to run. If you want to run an all-terrain for example, the Nitto Terra Grappler offers several sizes. The next logical step up for you without going too much bigger would be a 285/70/17 which is about a half inch wider and over an inch taller than your current tire. There are certainly bigger options though if you wanted to go even bigger and on an 02 you aren't very limited when it comes to fitment.

Breathing Borla, just wanted to see if you ended up ordering those wheels and tires. I'm considering a similar size and offset, but am leaning towards the -6 offsets as I think they'll fit more flush to the fender flares on my TRX4. Just wanted to see how they went on if you ordered them. Thanks.

no, I haven't ordered them yet as my truck is still in the early build stages and who knows when I'll get it.

I do plan to go with these though

ok, I got the truck last night.

went with the 18 offset MB TK that I was looking at. Also got LT 285-70-17 BFG AT KO Load D, black wall.

perfect fit, no rubbing. Just waiting to get my upgraded center caps and black lugs then discount tire will swap out the standard center caps I am using now.

Thanks for the help guys on the fitment, the LT 285 fits and looks nice!!

black wheel on the steel color RULES!!!!!!!!!!!

I looked at a truck at the dealership that had 295s on it and I would say that probably the widest you would want to go if you're not planning to use spacers. There was a little room there but not enough to even wedge my finger in.

Dont Rely on side wall stamped sizes !!!

Do your research carefully, check manufactures websites
or go to Tire Rack to see what each tire "Actually" measures when mounted on recommended size wheels
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/TireSe...50&diameter=20

Some 305's are 12.2" and will fit a 4G 1500 4x4 20" x 9" wheel with +19.05 offset (no spacers required, no rubbing)
Some 305's are 12.6" wide....Even a Trail Grappler in 295/65R20 size is wider than many 305's ...at 12.60" = RUB!

My 305/50R20 Terra Grappler's on stock 20"x9" Chrome Clads
work just fine on my 10' RCSB 4x4 Sport ...even after dropping it 2/3

I've been trying to get the message across for 3 years now

Anyone tell me about the -24 offset with 35s on a 18x10 rim. Its either that or the +18 offset and I'm looking to go with the Toyo MTs so they are wide. I have an 08 1500 2WD. Wanna pull the trigger but am worried about the offset being to straining on my truck.
