Yea I wouldn't see how they could get into my BAK Fibermax, especially with a coat hanger. If you like the roll up designs have you seen BAK's Roll-X, its a Hard Rolling Tonneau cover with a vinyl top. Looks nice, I'm thinking of switching over.

If U want a more durable and secure cover try www.diamondbackcovers.com for the $ U will spend on the bakflip U could put a little more into one of these and feel better knowing your stuff is more secure. Plus U can haul heavy stuff on top of it if U want.

Bottom line is if a thief is determined enough, really nothing can prevent theft. But it is clear, the Bak Flip and other high quality tonneau covers will provide enough security. Most thieves want the quick and easy as in most cases, they cannot afford extra time, noise and calling attention to themselves, especially if they do not know if anything at all is in the bed.

If they're willing to wield a crowbar and pry a hard cover up, they're probably just as inclined to use a centre-punch on a window (actually quicker, quieter and more concealable).

This is why I hate thieves, if they want it anything that is not lockable is easy to break into and anything that is lockable is just a little harder but not hard to do.

My cover is for weather protection of hunting gear mostly. If it was for theft protection I would have gotten something with a lock and key and like mentioned above even then you aren't completely safe.

Any of the covers are about as secure as locking the screen door. They will keep out the casual thief that looks for an easy opportunity but they won't stop anyone who actually wants to get in. Soft tonneaus are the worst because they can be cut without anyone noticing.

Here is a video comparing a Fold-a-cover G4 Elite vs a BakFlip g2

It shows how to open the BakFlip with a coat hanger

I just installed the Fold-a-cover G4 on my 2013 R/T and I love it. I needed to step in the front part of the bed to wash and wax the roof and the G4 lets me do it.

Locks in general only keep out honest folks. A friend of mine has a neighbor in the Lake of the Woods who installed commercial grade shutters all over the cottage... Guess what, they chain-sawed through the roof.
