Since I always see BRH always whore n' his pics all over these days I'd figured I'd post some of mine

Here's the set-up I used to run that got my heavy ass crew cab in the 13.8s and still to this day the only crew cab in the 13s

They are 17x9" Pro comp 1069 (yes same as above but do come in a 17x9 set up) wheels w/ M&H 275/50 DRs (28") and only weigh 53 lbs a piece....which shaved about 25lbs per corner when compared to my 22" wheels.

Is there a website that will tell you the weight of the rims they are selling?

I have the 03? I think, off road 17's and they are light. I just weighed one with a 26x11.5x17 ET Street and it was 45.5lbs. I ran Friday night and only picked up 15/100 switching from a 275/55/20 on factory wheels to the dr's, would have been less but I hit the rev limiter on the first pass trying to see how long I could hold 2nd gear compared to the 275/60/20. They do seem to make more difference if I totally prep the truck, but at full weight I'm in 3rd way too long. I want to try a 28" tire, I think It will be better, maybe even an ultra light 30" to keep me in the power gears longer, 3rd is such a killer, even shifting out of 2nd at 6500. Best I could get was a 14.4 at 1500'DA at full weight minus spare and gate.

He was right, and its usually a guy in an R/T running 22's lol!!
..or a lifted duramax/powerstroke on 35's and 8" lift

I swap tires for track events for several reasons:

1) lighter weight
2) better traction
3) reduced effect gear ratio (4.30:1 vs 3.55:1)
4) reduced rolling resistance and less rotational mass
5) lower ride hieght by almost 3" for better aerodynamics

Bottom line, drops over a half second off my ET's 14.4's to 13.8's

I dont care what it looks like and most of my runs are after dark on Friday nights
so nobody can rally see it anyway, at least my 10' RCSB 4x4 has a 2/3 drop
which sits like a 4/6 hieght on my DR's

Truck and tire combo are bad ass looking! I can't believe you have a 2/3 drop also! They do look funny though in that big wheel well! But as long as they work

Going to dismount my factory 05 20" spare tire that is a 275/60/20 goodyear on a steel wheel to weigh rim. Trying to find a light weight 20" combo for the cheap guys and for the guys that can't store more stuff! I am liking the procomps wit the drag radials coming in at 53lbs though! Also thinking of cutting down some steel 20" spares for the front and making possibly 20x5 or 6's for the front if someone makes a tall skinny 20" tire. Keep you guys posted!

Oh, also try'd to fit a procomp 15" on the rear but it hit the caliper. Looked like it would need almost a good inch to clear so I'd say 16" are most likely out too, but not 100% sure. Looks like 17" most likely only. Plus don't think there are to many 16 drag tires or slicks out there.

You'd be far better off with a set of factory 17" cast aluminum wheels,

I see them on kijiji/fleabay all the time barely used.

They are by far the lightest of the stock wheels at just a hair under 24lbs ea.
Throw a set of 275/50R17 DR's and you're good to go.

Some guys even installed softer compound Winter Tires (UMP's I think)
instead of DR's because they stick like glue when warmed up, street legal, way more puncture resistant than DR's ...ask autobred.
Run them on all 4 corners and rotate them FTW!!!

I think stock 20" Alum/Chrome Clads are 34-36lbs each
and around 80lbs total with 275/60R20 Good-for-a-Year rubber
Mine with 305/50R20 TerraGrapplers are well over 90lbs ea.

My Moto Metal 17" x 9" wheels are just about 30lbs (32 lbs of DR = 62 lbs total)
Factory 05 20" polished rims I weighed in at 39 lbs and 81 lbs with 275-55-20 michellins LTX and 84 lbs with 275-55-20 pirelle scorpions

Clifford, thanks for the info! I was looking for the stock steel 17 inch rims but could not find any... I may have a line to a dealer with some. Until then my search continues
