All it takes to damage anything electrical is 1 drop of water in the right spot. One drop connecting a power to a ground is not good although it would probably just blow a fuse. Water anywhere on a circuit board is not good also. Maybe the door switches are water tight since they will get wet when its raining and the door is open.

Thats how I feel as well. Right now the truck has no power to verify if everything works correctly but I'm afraid once the bcm is replaced and if something is wrong they'll just fix it to cover it up.

I guess all that matters is that everything gets fixed for free and that you never smell the mildew or anything. If that nasty smell appears in a week or so bring it right back to them. The smell is what I would be most concerned about personally.

I think this really depends how much water got on the seat and carpet. If it's a small amount then it's tough to demand those things be replaced as once they dry they'll very likely smell just as good as new. If it's a fair bit of water and they are soaked, then it is reasonable to ask for those things to be replaced.

For the window controls, I would either ask for those to be replaced, or get something in writing that warranties those electronics for the life of the truck. That way if they break 5 years down the road, they will be replaced for free.

It sounded like there was enough water to clearly indicate that it was wet. Additionally, try to refrain from letting your truck leave that dealership until it gets resolved. Things are harder to deal with as soon as it leaves their possession.

Yea in my expierence creating a complaint ticket with Ram CS works well. If the dealer let the inside of my brand new truck get soaked (which i suspect broke the BCM anyway) i would be pissed to...smell or not.

The dealer has insisted there is no damage, even though the truck hasn't been started yet. As of right now they will not replace anything but I guess I'll see how everything functions one the bcm is replaced. I called Chrysler but they couldn't get resolution on the case until the service manger is back at work. Talked to a lawyer and got some good advice though. There may not be anything wrong with the vehicle when I eventually drive it off the lot but they ruined my peace of mind going forward.

let them fix it, then go from there, pull the door sills up and pull the carpet back and see what the padding looks like, (take pics) and smells like. same with seats smell them, bury your nose in them and smell. Get the electrical warranty extended.

Can someone confirm that the 2013 model interiors are stain and odor resistant like my 2011? At least the cloth interiors? I don't know if leather ever was or not but its a huge piece of mind in my 2011 with my almost 2 year old in the truck. When she was younger she woke up sick enough to have me and my wife worried about her and the doctor told us if we could get there within a certain time frame that she could see her that same day between her appointments. We had to rush and I was on diaper change duty.. Long story short, I forgot to put a new diaper on her and as soon as I strapped her in to the car seat she pee'd EVERYWHERE! It was like she was holding a full bladder on purpose to spite me because she waited until I got her buckled in and I was in the truck in reverse!

I dried everything up and have never smelt anything in the truck
