Default Hello from AZ

Hi from hot AZ. I'm new to your forum. I have a 2012 ram 1500st 5.7 hemi. Every once in a while when I start it, it makes a loud ticking noise that goes away in 5 or 10 seconds. It sounds like a valve tick like a lifter is needling down (showing my age). Of course it could be something totally different, but that's the type of sound it makes. I can not "make" it happen at will, it's a very random occurrence. Anyone experience this? Any information will be appreciated. Thanks for reading my post.

Hey there and welcome to the Ramforumz!!

You'd have better luck getting responses by posting this in the appropriate sub-forum. However, there are MANY MANY posts about this and from what I've gathered it's common and pretty normal. Some switch to synthetic oil and hear an improvement

Feel free to ask any questions you have, if I don't know the answer I'll try my best to refer you to someone who does.

Thank you for introducing yourself and enjoy the site!
