It's not something you can really put in writing and explain to someone else. You'll just have to see for yourself. It's not going to be night and day though, it's still the same engine. I'm sure a lot of people wouldn't be able to feel a difference at all whereas many can feel a difference

I've had the honour of driving a Hemi 6-speed, 3.55 right before my Hemi 8 speed, 3.92.

Big difference there! take off is so much more smooth.

not too sure about the difference on the same tranny 3.55 to 3.92.
you'll probably notice it on dry roads (hard accel) and hauling stuff more than day to day.

Having driven both, there is no comparison. I was actually unimpressed with the HEMI/ 6 speed/ 3.55s

Power is identical. The engine is what makes the power. Acceleration, shifting, seat of the pants feel all go HEAVILY in favor of the 8 speed. Its a completely different animal all together. I test drove a hemi 8 speed 3.21 and it felt like a complete dog compared to the 3.92. You will be very pleased.

I have a 3.92 rear end, Hemi 8 speed and initially the power was disappointing...I was getting out of a 2007 Hemi sport with 3.92s and CAI, ported tb, tune and FM exhaust though.

Now that it is getting broken in and the trans is loosening some...getting MUCH better. Did Magnaflow exhaust and that helped a tiny bit. About to drop a freer flowing filter in the air box and maybe swap the intake tube and get a ported tb and I am certain it will be even better than my 07 at that point.

I did a massive leap from an '03 with 3.55 to a '13 with 8 speed and 3.92. For me it was a noticeable difference. The 3.92 is much more responsive. The traction control and horrible shift points at WOT on the 8 speed make it feel like it is handcuffed. Don't get me wrong I find it quite fast and very responsive but I know there is SOOO much more to be unlocked with a good tune, especially a transmission tune.

Mine is very snappy off the line. I try not to do it often to save gas lol.

the main difference between the 6 & 8 speed transmissions
is the ratio gap between gears

the 6 speed, if you watch the Tachometer while it is going from stopped to highway speeds, you will notice the RPM dropping more & having to get back up for the transmission to make another shift

where with the 8 speed, the gap or ratio between gears is closer together & there is less RPM drop between shifts

it can be compared to 2 people driving a Standard Shift transmission, one being a beginner & the other having done it for years
