Default Traffic Message Channel (TMC) 8.4a

I was looking for this in my stereo system 2013 Ram Bighorn w/8.4a NAV added and unable to locate the Traffic Message Channel (TMC). I've looked thru the Uconnect Manual page 160 and it even says under the 8.4a TMC Incidents but no luck finding on my system. Can anyone shed any light on this subject? I believe this is part of the NAV that tells when there is traffic issues when using the NAV. Maybe I'm doing something wrong and that is always possible. Thanks in advance for the help.

I thought the systems came with traffic and weather but its not on the NAV part? I just can't find the TMC that the manual says it has. Wasn't sure if anyone else that has the 8.4a has found it or if it even exists

you can find traffic reports for your area on Sirius/XM
Sirius 156 Traffic San Francisco / Seattle Traffic & Weather

but that won't make the Nav Traffic work

in the radio itself

Traffic & Weather
Touch the Traffic & Weather soft-key to tune to a
SiriusXM™ Traffic and Weather channel. To set a Traffic
& Weather alert for any one of the cities in the Jump
Browse list, see Browse in SAT.
When the Traffic & Weather soft-key is touched, the
Traffic & Weather channel is tuned.
If the Traffic & Weather alert City is not set, you are
presented with a pop up to allow you to select the
favorite city using the Browse Screen.

page 160 of the Uconnect reads for the 8.4a
• TMC Incidents
Touch this soft-key to show Traffic Message Channel
(TMC) Incidents while in Map View. Touch and release
the soft-key until a check-mark appears, showing the
setting has been selected.

page 162
• TMC Route Mode
Touch this soft-key to change how the Traffic Message
Channel (TMC) Route Mode functions during route
guidance. Touch the desired soft-key.
– Automatic
– By Delay Time
– Manual
– Off
• TMC Avoidance Types
Touch this soft-key to display the available Traffic Message
Channel (TMC) Avoidance Types you would like
displayed while in route guidance. Touch and release the
desired selection soft-key until a check-mark appears,
showing the setting has been selected.
NOTE: You can touch the back arrow soft-key to return
to the previous screen or the X soft-key to exit.

page 163
From the Nav Main Menu, touch the Information softkey
and select one of the following options to view
additional information.
• Traffic
• Where Am I?
• Trip Computer
NOTE: You can touch the back arrow soft-key to return
to the previous screen or the X soft-key to exit.

well, I just got off the phone with Uconnect and sirus and both say the systems for the 2013 Rams do not have the module for traffic updates on the NAV. Even though the Uconnect Manual shows it to have the TMC, there is nothing there. Was told to keep checking the Mopar.com site for an update part for the NAV.

Can anyone verify that their 8.4a has or does not have the TMC, as GTYankee shows and manual it is supposed to be there?

My 8.4an does have traffic. I'll often see small icons on the map screen and have selected them. A pop-up will show the details for the icon. I'm not sure if the 8.4a has the capability or not though.

Thanks for the info, I think I'm receiving bad info, hoping someone on here has the 8.4a and can answer that question as well
