Hmm. Wow. Didnt know Mobil 1 was not up to par with Chrysler/Ram. That's a significant piece to the puzzle. Ive always used it, but Im gonna look into this. A good friend is the service manager at my dealership. I'm going to run this by him and see what his take on it is....

Even though I have yet to change oil in my 13, I ran Mobil 1 in my 09. I tried Ams oil in my 09 but my oil pressure wasnt as good as it was with the mobil 1. Sounds crazy but true story.

Pennzoil platinum and Pennzoil Ultra are both Chrysler approved. And that's what is recommended by my dealer. If you want to know more about oil go to Bob is the oil guy website. A serious wealth of knowledge.

A lot believe Synthetic is over rated, especially nowadays with the increased quality etc of regular Dino oils.

In my opinion, and this is strictly my opinion, unless you don't tow/haul a lot, don't live in an extreme hot or cold climate and change your oil more than once a year (depending on mileage) then synthetic really isn't required anymore.

Also, not sure how many actually Manu's of oil still use 100% pure synthetic, but I doubt it is anymore than 2, maybe 3 as most now are just a more refined dino oil referred to as Type 3 oils.

They are still great oils, but most are overpriced based on trickery by the oil manu's fooling consumers into thinking they are 100% pure synthetic.
