BigHornz; straight city driving in stop and go traffic, or worse case, commuting time parking lot an inch at a time in the city, all our Hemi's will suffer let alone any big V8 at that. Your 12-13 is still impressive for a big city commuter bud. Much better than my old 99 Ram with the 5.9Magnum which barely got me 8mpg in heavy city traffic.

Mikennrg; if you take a look at your window sticker that came on your truck in real tiny letters and numbers, it actually says, city=11-17mpg and highway=16-24mpg. Whether its a half ton RC, QC, CC, 4x2 or 4x4, it primarily depends on driver input which explains the wide margin in estimates. According to EPA recorded results of course.

I think that 66-68mph is the "sweetspot" for guys with 3.55 gearing. I took a relatively short highway trip and hand calculated after that. I ended up getting 18.3. Not bad considering my truck only had 500 miles on it. Hopefully once I get 3000-5000 on it I'll be getting 20mpg or better highway.

Oh hell yeah mikennrg! Your engine wears in, you get that first oil change and your computer adjusts to your driving style. All this good stuff and a bag of chips! Hahaha! It'll level out once you get your baby all broke in. You know the biggest thing that sells me on my Ram is that on any given day, I can drive it like grandma on Sunday and save a little money now and then, OR I can choose to go out one morning and be the first one off the line at the light to hear that Hemi roar! From one end of the extreme to the other, our Ram's can do it. Damn, I should be a salesman!

Nothing....I baby mine as well 95% of the time, and I am getting 8-9 mpg city by the evic, and from hand calcs I've done, it reads ~ 1 mpg high......

The only highway trip I have taken was 16.9 @ 70 mph (evic said 18.2), and towing was 10.6 by hand, evic was 13.8 (towing a 3000 lb bass boat @ 65).

So mine HAS to get better.........

I only get 12 mpg on my 2012 Ram Crew.

Of course, I'm also on a 4 inch lift with 35s - so I don't complain much.

I average 11.8 going down the local highway or around town. But on the interstate when I stick it around 70 I pull almost 13 mpg.

Mine got 19 mpg avg. on the first thousand miles before any changes.

My truck is weird. I have a six inch lift with 35". I tried the whole babying thing after I broke the truck in only getting about 11.8 city. I have changed my driving style back to kind of the way way they tell you break them in (heavy on the throttle until u hit the speed limit and let it cruise after that, making sure to let it fall into the highest gear) and I'm now getting 13.5-14. I am also manually over riding the mds by putting my truck into 6th gear instead of putting it into straight drive. This has been working for me. Call me crazy but the numbers add up. I guess my hemi likes the fast take offs to show off for the ladies and rest in between for the next stop light!

Up to 5000 miles my 13 Express was getting 14.6 to 15.1.
Now at 5200 miles I am getting 17.8.

Just rolled 1200 miles in my '13 2wd quad cab. Filled her up for the 4th time exactly at 1200 miles, evic is reading 16.9 mpg with 80% urban & 20% freeway. Have not had the fuel low light come on yet and normally have 75+ miles left on the distance till empty.

I do not drive like grandma but also do not drive it like I stole it, normally first away at the lights but no tire smoking going on. Definitely used the power a few times to over take and piss a few ricers off but normally stay between 5 and 10 mph over the posted limit. The cruising sweet spot seems to be 72 mph showing 21/22 mpg with cruise on, with cruise off she gets a little more but loses going up hills.

I'm extremely happy with the mpg compared to the old 5.9 I had before, hopefully when I get around to adding some mods and adding the miles she will free up a little more. I think driving style goes a long way towards your mpg, especially your braking.
