Not sure I'd tow a gooseneck with a 1/2 ton. Maybe this engine will appear as a midrange engine for the 3/4 ton rams?

Wow! This guy has even more spin than a used car salesman. Since they are not scheduled to start production until the last week of August, July on dealer lots is not even close. And with the delays of their recent launches, I'd expect that date to get pushed back.

I saw a Cherokee with diesel in it a month or so ago at a red light. I could not believe how quiet it was. Now if they would just lower the price a bit....

Who is making this diesel? Fiat? I thought I heard that the cummins contract was up this year and they weren't going to renew it.

VM Motori history

Detroit Diesel Corporation (DDC) bought VM Motori in 1995.

In 2000 the DDC was purchased by DaimlerChrysler AG.

In 2003, Penske Corporation purchased a 51% stake in VM Motori; in 2007, Penske bought the remaining 49% from DaimlerChrysler and subsequently sold 50% of it to General Motors.[1] As of 2007, both deals were awaiting European regulatory approval and the value of the deal was not known.

In September 2008, GAZ Group announced plans to purchase a 50% stake from Penske Corp.[2] but ultimately cancelled them in February 2009.[3] January 11, 2011 Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera published news that Fiat S.p.A. is about to purchase 50% stake from Penske.[4] In February 11 Fiat Powertrain Technologies confirmed it has bought the 50 percent stake.[5]

The agreement between Chrysler & Cummins that you mentioned, was ONLY for a diesel engine for the 1500s
It didn't have anything to do with the diesel engines in the Larger Rams

The 3.0 engine is a fairly new design, but the company has been around for years
mostly because of U.S. Emission Standards, they have been mostly overseas
VM Motori at one time made engines for UPS, the brown truck, of course they used a larger engine
