Default Aftermarket rear view camera question

I want to install a camera and was thinking about using a rear view mirror but the more I read about them there are mixed reviews ...too small a picture is one issue...
I only have the basic radio and don't have the nav screen I was wondering what other options could I use and where would the screen go? I don't want it sitting on the dash.
Thanks for the help

I could get my aftermarket camera done to the radio, but to lazy. So my plan is to get a pillar pod for a monitor and modify it for a 4.3in monitor.

I don't want to lose my pillar handle, so i'm going to custom mount a screen on top of the dash in that "ram" pocket flush and clean. It wont block any view out of the windshield and should be easy to wire my front and rear cameras
