Question 2500 MPG Question

So I am looking to getting a 2500 instead of my 1500. My question is to any of you that own a 3/4 ton w/Hemi and are HONEST. I don't want anyone who typically stretches the truth to make them selves look better to answer. I only want facts good or bad.

I have a 10' 1500 w/Hemi and 3.92 gears. I get about 17-18 mpg on a good day driving 60 mph on the highway. I get 13-14 mpg around town and back and forth to work. Pulling my 7x23' enclosed snowmobile trailer at 70 mph I get 10 mpg.

I just want to know what my mpg's will be if I get a 3/4 ton. I do not want this to turn into a gas vs diesel argument so please save those comments. I only drive 2.5 miles to work so a diesel is out of the question.

Thanks in advance.

The first 500 miles on my truck it said 9.5 MPG, but that was mainly city and short trips with more than a few hills during stop and go.

I just got back from a 500 mile round trip with my 2500 megacab Gasser and I averaged 13 MPG with a little city driving mixed in. My truck only has 1100 miles on the motor so I expect it to get a little better. I was going 80 on the freeway, b/c the ride is a little better. Road was fairly flat(NortherN ND) and my tank had 91 octane with no ethynol. 3.73 gears.

Since my trip I have reset a few times and it seems going 60 I could possibly get 17mpg, and also possibly rear ended

I too did not need a Cummings and am happy with my gasser!

Same boat here...don't need diesel. Curious how the ride is in your 2500.

Took some getting used to! I drove a Chev S-10 Blazer for the last 10 years, last 5 being on a new suspension I had put in.

Down the freeway it isn't too bad, but in town you will feel the bumps in the road.

Overall I get between 10 and 14mpg. Mine's a 2500 quad cab, long bed. Ride is on the rough side but what do U expect with a 3/4 ton truck with a solid front axle....I wouldn't have it any other way IMO. Independent front suspension, traction control, and other nannies are for sissies!
