As far as I know, when decelerating from 60, as the OP wrote, ALL injectors would be de-activated, not just the MDS ones. That alone rules out this theory. Cars have been cutting injection during deceleration for years now. Also, under light throttle the majority of fuel bypasses all the injectors anyways, so that's nothing new. Add this: If you saw a spike on an O-scope- how could you see it if it wasn't being fired? Also, all the engine parts are still moving at rate, so a spike on a scope could appear to you to align with any event. But mostly, an unpowered injector has no electrical pulse applied, and would have zero uncompressible fuel movement as a result, so I can't see it from my house. Maybe, with a stretch just maybe a fuel rail line, or hose. There has to be physical movement to create noise.

My 05 non mds hemi has developed a slow tic at idle, about 1 tic per second, also cyl 8 misfire. Borescoped #8 cyl, it's perfect. I've bought lifters, head gasket and all parts to pull off the passenger side head, hoping it might be a rocker arm. My gut tells me it's not a lifter. Probably can't get to it till after the 4th of July, but I'll post up what we find.

Mine was just in the shop. MDS Cylinder 1 failed so they replaced that and the wire harness. Put back together and noticed the ticking noise I was also complaining about. Doubted it was an acceptable tick so they tore into it deeper and found one bent valve guide. I dont know much about the heads but they said they had to replace the head, GREAT FOR ME NO MORE TICKING

I been having this same issue and been going rounds with mechanics. Final one is telling me it is ticking from eco mode kicking in and it's normal but normal or not it's embarrassing to say the least. It's like driving through parking lot in pinto with rods knocking but in a $35,000 truck with 50k miles.

My 2011 Ram has been doing this more often lately. I knew of the Hemi tick (not first or only Hemi ~ ), but figured it was MDS related. It does go away when you use gears vs. drive.
62,xxx miles on truck.

Yeah it sucks when driving around, I wonder how loud it is for others vs. how loud it is in the cab.
