First thing he tells everyone is it need custom tuning, which is obvious given everything he changes, but it just went in today so only time will tell how long it lasts.

I'm doing the trans swap now to work out any bugs and the new power plant goes in at the end of summer.

Last year MGH built my trans too. Still holding on strong. I went up to his shop bc he also built my turbo and got to see first hand all the work that goes into his trans builds....it's pretty extensive.

Mike explained everything that went into his transmission build and it was an instant sale with me and my track bud MGRAM-10 (Ripp Supercharged 4G Rams)

Clearly this man knows his stuff, not only in his build specs, but the proper tuning to make it all perform and still last under serious boost!

...We're also going with 3000 stall ATS Triple Disc Torque Converters like you and Mike run on your turbo applications.

The deal for ATS was more hassle than it was worth, install has to be by one of their certified shops (+$$$$)
and their 5 year warranty is really only good for one year (parts labor and shipping)
after the first year only parts are covered unless you can get your broken truck all the way to Colorado

Grant and I have talked a few times through his Arrington head fiasco, but we have yet to actually meet. Once I get everything squared away with this build I plan to hit Castrol as much as I can until the new Balzac motorplex gets finished.
You need to get a move on with this build, we want to see some trucks in the 11s with the L&M Customs transmission.

Any thoughts on the Paramount Performance transmissions? They seem to have a rock solid reputation but they certainly aren't inexpensive.

They are the rave on the lxforums. I believe they made 545 for the GC but I didn't read much about it. May want to check the GC forums.

The Paramount 545 isn't anything to write home about compared to their NAG1s. It's the same type of upgrade as the ATS or Sharadon; in the end the biggest hurdle is still the programming.

CdnoilRAM, where did you come to that conclusion? I don't doubt you but I've looked everywhere, or so I thought, on reviews for them and came up with NAG only.

But I agree with you on programming 100%. I was told that no matter what I did, stock or otherwise, that the key was careful programming, to watch tranny temp and do not force a two gear kickdown when at highway speed.

You mentioned elsewhere that there was another transmission option via Mike. Does he have a website or other means of contact?
