Default front struts=junk

Anyone else having issues with these struts. Had the drivers side front replaced at 140 miles. Asked the dealer if they would be replacing both fronts or just one. They only did the bad one of course per Chrysler. Now 1200 miles later guess what, the passenger front one is leaking oil all over my asphalt driveway. Now I'm told the struts are on national back order. So I get to sit for who know how long with a bouncy front end and another trip to the dealer. Last time it took them 2 hours to replace one strut. I remember changing the fronts on my old ram in less than an hour in my driveway. I'm guessing with the back order lots of people are having issues. Wish I could afford to go aftermarket but my bank account is bone dry after buying the truck. Sorry for the rant.

They should have replaced the pair. My guess is your rear shocks will go soon too. If the truck sat a long time the struts can start to leak. Happened on 2 of my other new trucks as well.

FYI - On a newish product, it is common for it to take Service parts several months to build up inventory. So a national backorder doesn't necessarily mean there is a major problem. It might be just poor planning.

I agree, ^^^^, not necessarily a problem, and there is nothing to worry about only changing out one strut if there is very little mileage on both.

Well for about 240 bucks and your time just get the blistens up front problem solved. I had to replace the father in laws on his 08 at 60,000 and the bottom bolts were frozen in i couldn't complete it with out dealer. I wouldn't keep messing with the oem's my opinion. But if 240 is hard to come by well then i know what you mean. But you will thank yourself if you do. Good luck and sorry your going threw this issue. Its very common.
