Default Where's My Dual Exhaust?

Don't get it - the 2013 1500's have dual exhaust yet my big hauler 2500 (gasser) has a single exhaust. Has anyone changed to duals and if so, any links would be appreciated!

Thanks

Changing to duals shouldn't be hard at all. All you would need to do is get a bumper with the cut outs off a 1500 and then a dual exhaust system. Either stock or aftermarket, whatever you choose. Another option would be to put a dual system on your truck with your stock bumper. That's what I did on mine. Personally I like the look a little better and wanted it to be different than every other 1500 with an exhaust system on it.

changing over to dual exit is easy
drop your spare tire

buy a muffler of your choice with single pipe in with a dual out setup
you don't have 1500 with MDS, so you don't really need the resonators to kill the horrible noise that the MDS causes

this is a 1500, but they are close to the same

this one shows even more & it is a 2500

Does the 2500 use the same bumper, like say if you wanted the cutouts?

Yes as far as I know the rear bumpers are exactly the same. I don't have first hand experience to be 100% sure about that. But I don't see anything different about them.

Thanks so much guys - looks like a Flowmaster might be the trick - The bumber does not do anything for me the sideexhaust will work fine.

Love the sound as well - is there any increase of power or added mileage?

Thanks

ChEck my mods list. I bought an american thunder flowmaster catback. It goes around the spare. Hell i dont like the cutouts anyway! I hated the look of my weak single exhaust too.

dual outlet pipes don't add enough power to matter
the sound & the owners pride, make it butt dyno better though

Definitely a small increase in power and low end torque as any aftermarket exhaust will flow better than stock. It is very minimal though. The exhaust combined with a better flowing intake will give you a bit better fuel economy. A tuner will definitely help that as well.

That's the same kit I have.

OP, make sure you get the kit meant for a Ram WITHOUT factory duals. There is two different ones. The Flowmaster kit does have have the option to put the tips out the back if you want that as well. I'm personally not a fan of that on a truck without the cut outs.

Thanks again - yep I'm all right just hanging out the side like my Cummins used to have - I didn't really think there would be much power gain without adding two separate mufflers and pipes to let it breath better!

Where do I find some beefy exhaust tips!
