Default Tires

Hey everyone!

this is my 3rd Ram I love these trucks, I have a 3" Front and 2" rear leveling kit purchased and looking to get a bigger set of tires!! But my question is does anyone know how big i can go before i need to get wheel spacers? its driving me crazy trying to figure it out! i am looking at a 35x12.5x20 or a LT325/60R20 they are almost the exact same size but they is a little bit of difference!

Also I just got L.E.D projector headlight bulbs haven`t installed them yet but I`ll let you guys know how they are if you want to know!

Thanks!!

Number one, what leveling kit do you have that lifts the front 3"? Typically the highest you want to go on the front is 2.5" otherwise you're asking for trouble with CV shaft and control arm angles.

I'm assuming you have the stock wheels and tires still? To fit 35's you will need 1/4" spacers no question. What tire are you looking at? Not all of them actually measure the same once mounted. My 35" Toyo MT's actually measure 34.25" when mounted for example. The 325/60/20 is an oversized 35 and I could definitely see you having problems with that on the stock rims.

agreed. changing the geometry by that extra 1/2 inch can cause quite a few issues. esp. if you are a 4x4.

thanks for all the info!!

I will sell my 3 Inc and get a 2.5 and I was thinking about the BF Goodrich All-Terrain T-A KO (LT285/65R20) or the Cooper Discoverer STT (35X12.50R20LT) I had the Toyo AT and the wore really fast. I heard the AT2 is much better! Still looking at tires its hard to make a choice,

does anyone have any recommendations on a All-Terrain tire

I've never run an AT tire but I would personally recommend the AT2's. IMO they're the best looking AT tire out there. I would imagine they should wear a lot better than the original AT's as well. I have Toyo MT's on my truck and after 5000 kms they still look brand new. Very impressed with them so far.

Before you jump and sell that 3" kit take a look under your front end and check your CV shaft angles. Some trucks have more rake from the factory so it's possible that yours isn't too bad. If you post a picture here I'll take a look for you as well. If you do sell your kit I would definitely recommend getting the Bilstein 5100 adjustables. They're they best way to level a Ram IMO.

Ya, the MT's are definitely a more aggressive looking tire which is why I went with them. I do 80% highway driving so in reality an AT probably would have been a better choice but I wanted/needed the look of an MT. And like I said, mine are wearing ridiculously well so far so no complaints from me there.
