I'm not overweight with my set up even with the low 1288lbs rating but I'm right at the max. My only real question was if the hemi 1500 had more payload than a same equipped 4.7. With me being at my max payload with a small 4k camper I couldn't figure out how others where towing much larger TT with the same truck but different motor. It's clear they are most Likely overweight with the payload but possible still within rear axle limits.....
I am pleased to se the change from my 1288payload to 1600 someone stated on the 4th gen. Come trade in time I was thinking I would need to upgrade to a 2500 but now I'm don't think I need to
Idk if you have 4wd but if you do payload won't change. My payload is 1165. The 4.7 will usually have more payload since the motor weighs less.
My next truck will not be a 1500 that's for sure most likely a 3500 as the price difference between the 2500 and 3500 is a lot less than 2500 to 1500.
If you end up with another bighorn I would expect maybe 1300lbs payload since rear suspension design now weighs less but with all the new computer garbage it may have even less payload.
The only way to really increase payload and still have a half ton is to buy an f150 with the heavy duty payload package but those are practically the same price as a 2500
