Whats up man. Just about everyone swears by the Fox Acoustics box.

foxacoustics dot com

Thats the one I am looking at getting also. I work with a guy offshore says he used to get Joe Fox to build all of his competition enclosures and says hes awesome at it. Alot of guys complain about the time it takes to get the box shipped though..and then some say it wasnt long at all. Where in Louisiana do you live? Not much knowledge on component speakers here, sorry.

Yea they are in Houma, right beside the tunnel somewhere..Ported box is going to give you louder bass and sealed is going to be a little tighter, more responsive from the sub, but not as loud. I would personally go with ported. Are you keeping the factory head unit? Do you have the upgraded alpine system or the regualar 6 speaker system?

I've got a 2012 Crew Cab with the Alpine System and that stock sub in the back is pretty weak sauce. In my last vehicle, I had MTX subs and enjoyed them, so I didn't know if the FPR Shallow was a reasonable option for my truck. I haven't seen anything about them on here so I doubt they're worth a second look.

I have been reading about the boxes, and the Fox Acoustics 12" Dual Ported sounds like a decent box, but its actual volume is 1.1cu" and it apparently rattles pretty bad. After all, 12" Dual Subs is going to hit pretty hard in a ported box. Maybe some rattling is normal?

I have only done an install 1 time before, so I am no expert, just looking for some insight on whether 2 10"s or 2" 12s is the better option, combined with what box.

Im not looking for crazy loud, just tight, deep bass.
